Being.Grateful.

 

                                                                    I am grateful for

Each breath I take

Each smile I make

For each and every day

For now this Dao today

I am grateful for

Past mistakes

That raised the stakes

And helped me learn

The peace I earn

I am grateful for

My hands that write

My eyes and sight

My heart and love

The flying dove

I am grateful for

Those I met

Ones I forget

The teachers who

I never knew

I am grateful

To you reading this

I wish you bliss

Peace and joy

Love cannot die

I am grateful

For falling down

For being the clown

For getting up

Refilled my cup

I am grateful for

The tears I’ve shed

For those now dead

For now I know

They never go

I am grateful for

My inner space

Its joy and grace

And turmoil too

To keep me true

I am grateful for

The ups and downs

The grins and frowns

The yin and yang

Of who I am

And if tomorrow

I am gone

I’m grateful for

The magic song

That always played

And never strayed

And always will

So soft and still
