DJ Cronin: Mindful Leadership ™ ® © : Today, I write, not as a separate individual, but ...
Today, I write, not as a separate individual, but as one expression of the interconnected web of existence that binds us all. For too long, we have been caught in the illusion of division, a dream of "us" versus "them" that fuels conflict and suffering, most tragically witnessed in Gaza.
The violence we have seen, the loss of innocent lives, the perpetration of acts that shock the conscience – these are not isolated incidents. They are manifestations of a collective delusion, a failure to recognise our shared humanity, our fundamental oneness. The pain felt in Gaza is a pain felt by all, for we are intrinsically linked.
Let us, therefore, awaken from this dream of separation. Let us see beyond the lines drawn on maps and the narratives that divide us. Justice is not about retribution or vengeance; it is about recognising the inherent worth and dignity of every being. Accountability for war crimes is not about punishment alone, but about acknowledging the harm caused and paving the way for healing and reconciliation.
True and lasting peace will not be found in further division or the pursuit of narrow self-interest. It will emerge from a deep understanding of our interconnectedness, from empathy that transcends boundaries, and from a commitment to the well-being of all.
Today, I call upon each of you to look within and recognise the unity that underlies our apparent differences. Let compassion be our guide, and understanding our weapon. Let us work together, not as separate nations or ideologies, but as a single human family, to end the violence in Gaza, to hold those responsible to account, and to build a future where peace prevails, not as an aspiration, but as the lived reality of our interconnected existence.
The time for division is over. The time for unity, for recognising the indivisible truth of our being, is now. Let us step into this truth together and create a world worthy of our shared humanity.
